The brief
The engineering work
My Safety Buddy was an existing lone-worker safety product with native mobile applications and a web management portal. Kitek took over development and production support, then continued engineering across the applications, reporting and operational workflows. The work needed to carry the existing product forward while new features were developed.
Kitek assumed engineering responsibility for the existing smartphone applications, management portal and supporting services. Production care and feature development formed one continuing engagement, keeping changes connected to the product already used by the business.
Reporting work includes daily and weekly activity and login reports, date-based views and Excel exports. Report periods account for the relevant time zone, so managers can review a defined period and take the same information into their own reporting process.
Engineering work extended web-portal duress controls, including controls available from the portal header and group workflows. This brings those operational actions into the management interface alongside the people and groups being managed.
Work across iOS and Android includes additional account verification and revised permission-onboarding flows. These changes address how people gain access and enable the permissions the mobile application needs, across both native app platforms.
Continuing portal engineering addresses how dashboards refresh, preserve the operator's place and reflect saved changes. The aim is to keep the current task understandable as the interface updates, including recovery when a session needs attention.
The takeover became ongoing production support and feature development. The same engagement connects mobile access, portal operations and reporting with continued engineering ownership of the existing platform.
